Crowns
Crowns are used to repair teeth that fillings or other types of restorations cannot. They're custom made to match the color and shape of your teeth; adding strength and stability to teeth that may be too weak or decayed to stand on their own. Crowns can last for many years, but eventually will need replacing.
Crowns typically can be completed in two appointments with Dr. Buttaro. She will take a mold during the first visit that will be used to create your crown. The problem tooth will be prepared by removing decay and shaping. A temporary crown will then be placed until the following visit when Dr. Buttaro will set the permanent crown.
Crowns can repair:
- Cracked or broken teeth
- Severely decayed teeth
- Broken fillings
- Root canal teeth
- Badly misshapen teeth
